The Status: Way of Life LLC is a multidisciplinary design consulting practice providing architectural expertise, BIM support, and project solutions to individuals, brands, and firms. We specialize in services such as Revit/CAD modeling, construction documentation, existing conditions surveys, photo renderings, code research, and space planning. With a strong foundation in historic preservation, sustainability, and collaborative design, we help project teams meet their goals from concept through construction.
In addition to architectural design services, the Status: Way of Life LLC is an incubator for creative and cultural projects that explore the intersections of design, identity, and community. We are home to Status Apparel DC, a lifestyle brand inspired by self-expression and place-making, and the Black Market Creatives Showcase, an event and online platform celebrating Black-owned businesses and creative entrepreneurs. Together, these initiatives reflect our broader commitment to shaping spaces—built, visual, and cultural—that inspire and empower.

Designed to connect creators with consumers, the Showcase provides platforms for meaningful engagement, collaboration, and community-building through commerce and creativity.

Owner, Apparel & Architectural Designer
Hi, I’m Gabriel Massalley, Assoc. AIA—an architectural designer and the founder of Status: Way of Life LLC, a consulting practice that provides architectural design services, BIM support, and project solutions to individuals, brands, and firms.
I specialize in Revit and CAD documentation, 3D modeling, and construction document development—working closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to bring design visions to life and ensure technical precision across all phases of a project. With over a decade of experience, including 6+ years full time as a staff designer and continued consulting work —I’ve contributed to a range of complex civic, cultural, and educational projects. My role often bridges design intent and technical execution: from existing conditions documentation to renderings, report development, and exterior detailing.
What drives me is the belief that good design should be sustainable, inclusive, and rooted in both context and culture. I have a strong passion for preservation and have worked on the modernization of historic institutions like the National Air & Space Museum, Richmond Old City Hall, the Natural History Museum and Arlington Memorial Bridge, where the project team balanced character and performance through thoughtful documentation and collaboration. As both a designer and entrepreneur, I bring adaptability, leadership, and a solutions-oriented mindset to every team I join. My value lies not just in what I can produce, but in how I help teams stay organized, meet deadlines, and exceed client expectations.

SERVICES WE OFFER
Architectural Design Consulting
Our architectural design consulting services include but are not limited to Revit modeling, CD documentation, generating construction documents and presentation drawings, Existing conditions documentation, Photo rendering, Code analysis and research, interior layout and space planning. We aide with project reports/presentations for client/review agencies. We provide project support to meet necessary client/project deliverables and are able to work with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers and contractors to ensure completion of projects. We are able to exercise understanding of working design process including compiling a complete set of construction drawings, along with providing schematic design solutions, preparing 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings, and building/developing 3D models for clients.

The Status: Way of Life, LLC T-shirt design & printing services are perfect for business events, parties and organizations. Our services include T-shirt design and branding, mock-ups, production of design with HTV material applied to t-shirt, DTG and Embroidery also available. Minimum of 25 shirt order necessary for bulk printing services. Consideration will be given to smaller order quantities based on specifications.
